Support the Women of Afghanistan

Y’all have hopefully already heard about the 300 women who marched to protest the new law passed–a law

believed to contain articles that rule women cannot leave the house without their husbands’ permission, that they can only seek work, education or visit the doctor with their husbands’ permission, and that they cannot refuse their husband sex.

It’s not clear from the coverage who organized the march, but you can bet the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) had something to do with it.

When I brought up RAWA in the comments over at Feministe, commenter Forrester made a fantastic pledge: matching the first $1000 in donations made to RAWA by Feministe readers. I just donated $25. Will you join us? See Feministe for more details.
